After graduating from Western University in London, Ontario, Brent spent 10 years as an IG Advisor, Division Director and Regional Director. This experience gave him a broad insight into what makes IG clients tick.
“Everyone’s journey is different,” he says, “and it’s not easy to achieve financial freedom, to save for the future. Time and time again I’ve seen how having a solid financial plan makes a big difference to people’s lives.”
This deep understanding of the challenges faced by both IG’s clients and IG Advisors has helped Brent during his IG career, including in roles as VP Private Wealth Management and VP Practice Management.
In his current position, one of Brent’s key responsibilities is to find and introduce new ways to make it easier and more convenient for IG’s clients to save for their future, protect the wealth they’ve accumulated and reach their financial goals. He’s constantly looking for ways to improve IG’s processes, including developing tools for financial planning, estate planning, tax efficiencies, insurance and mortgages, as well as innovations that elevate the client-advisor experience.
“I love building stuff,” he says, “to the point that I think, if it’s not broke, let’s break it and rebuild it so it’s even better.”
Brent has a key yardstick for IG innovations: they have to deliver not only the best experience in financial services, but the best experience period. “Any new tools that we introduce need to be really intuitive and integrate seamlessly into our other services,” he says. “And our benchmark for service isn’t other financial companies, it’s the high bar of service you get from the likes of Amazon. Our ultimate goal is to provide a transparent, effective and efficient customer experience in everything we do.”
As regards the future, Brent is far from finished. He’s working on ambitious plans to provide IG’s clients with an even more comprehensive selection of services that will help them move closer to financial security, now and in their retirement, and to ultimately leave a legacy to those people and organizations they care most about.
“Our priority is to be there for our clients every step of the way,” says Brent. “And we want them to feel confident that, with the planning expertise, financial software systems and broad range of investment products that we provide, when they follow the advice they receive from their IG Advisor, they’ll reach all of their goals.”
